I would do just that pair but if you want a cat a syno or a Pim cat would be my choice but do not expect any fry to make it and the cat will take a beating from the spawning parents..

alright then I'll keep him in the 55, a pair has definitely formed now. I'm going to move my 2nd male out, and pick up some good fry food. What works good for fry? I really don't want live food (specifically) brine shrimp, but if that's my only option then I'm fine with it.
