Sexing juvy Convicts?

I think I ended up with two males, is this a problem? It was hard to get a picture so I did a video.

Is it common for them to go up and down the glass?

Can't really see any orange around either of their bellies from those pix so I'm guessing both males.


Fishes especially cichlids will go up and down the front of the glass when waiting to be fed.

I think I ended up with two males...mainly because one is half dead hiding by the filter intake, it keeps 'leaning' against it, I can't even get it to eat, it looks pretty bad off. what should I do?!?

Euthanize it and check you water quality. If you don't have a QT tank you're choices are slim to none.

I don't see any reason to euthenize, get a divider!

Take it back to the store or give it away to someone that is able to care for it. If can't do either, I would suggest adding more hiding places.
