As the title says anyone know what to look for?

I can't say I've heard of this kind of ram before so I did a little reading and came up with this: Sexual differences can normally be distinguished in Rams as young as 6-7week old juvies. Males being larger, like german blues, the 1st three top fin points are markedly elongated as well as having longer pelvic, anal, and caudal fins. In females, within or around the black spot is usually tainted with blue or golden speckles and occasionally, on each side of the spot, there is a vertical gold band. Unlike the female german blue, most, if not all, do not exhibit reddish/pinkish bellies. I've also read that if you look in the tank from the top, the female will be rounder than the male. Like I said though, this is going merely by searching around the net and not from personal experience however, I don't think it's too far from the truth.

I've actually seen these freakish rams, along with the longfin blue rams, at a local LFS. They basically look like a blue ram that just swallowed a huge gumball (ala Tom&Jerry cartoons). I didn't pay too much attention to the details, looks too unnatural for my tastes, but it looks like the sexing may be the same.

I have a few balloon german blue rams and i love them. I have found that the males have a few long spikes on their top fin. I have also noticed that the males have a blue upper lip. weird but true. I love these guys cause they are so mellow.

what is the best water conditions for these rams. Wondering as I have 3, and love them they remind me of angle fish.

Unfortunately, farmers located far away are constantly developing odd fishes, such as ballon molly, balloon rams, glo fish, TATTOO Mollies, parrots, flower horns, etc, etc because we as hobbyists keep purchasing these unnatural fish.

By all means, I am not saying these UNNATURAL fishes are suffering but upon observing, they seems to struggle trying swim/stay balanced.

IMO, these are deformed fishes but odd thus have some value as thye sell well in US, it seems..
As long as we continue to purchase these UNNATURAL fishes, it seems we may be endorsing/condone such practices. And they are getting top dollars from us.

I understand Selective Breeding as part of natural process but I like to express my thoughts that I DO NOT CONDONE such unnatural practices.

One may think that it is acceptable to practice on certain fish to produce parrots, flower horn (I heard some even goes for few K) but do not condone tatto fishes. I think they are all the same, Unnatural Process in which farmers are trying to make/have made some EASY extra bucks all around the world.

If we as hobbyist stop buying such fish, hopefully farmers will stop producing such man made fishes.
Unfortunately, it seems this may be a lost cause.
Just my thoughts!
