you actually wear a mask??? If there was really a high risk, then this hobby wouldn't be legal. I don't really see tank water being that much different that the water in a stream, river, or lake... all of which I have swim in (and I'm sure swallowed a little) and I have never gotten ill from it.

If that is the case why do water changes? There is an unnatutral level bio-load in a fish tank which is a breeding ground for unwanted bacteria and pathogens. And just to clear things up ,these pathogens are also found in lakes, rivers, ponds and swimming pools, it is just that they are in fewer numbers.

Not when Im doing a water change. When Im removing dead fish, and heave tank moving stuff, and stuff. I don't know how to put it.
