Sharpnosed Puffer

So I went ahead and bought one of the sharpnosed puffers. It's the blue dot one, here is link:

He's a awesome fish. He eats the shrimp I drop in the tank like crazy and he has a lot of personality.

I realize that there are certain inverts and fish that I can't keep in the tank with him. I think he really enjoyed the sand snails I added since I haven't seen them since then.

Can anyone recommend fish that he would get along with? I have a 55 gallon tank with about 60 lbs of live rock and live sand.

there are many many fish that will get along with them. some will do fine with shrimps and inverts. my valentini never bothered anything.
some people do have problems with them nipping fish, especially those with larger fins such as lions ( although mine never bothered my fuzzy dwarf).
but overall, they are pretty peacefull and can get along fine with most fish.
why dont you give us some suggestions of what you would like and i'm sure someone here will be able to say if it works or not.

I have a Valentini puffer and keep it with a golden wrasse and a sixline wrasse. I also have a large camel shrimp that the puffer doesn't bother. It did eat the smaller peppermint shrimp though. So far the sixline wrasse will occasionally harass the other wrasse, but the puffer is peaceful with everything. I've had this setup in a 30g for about a year and a half. I'm going to upgrade once I get settled in a new place.
