I am going to start a multies tank and was wondering if I can put a snail or snails in with them. What kind of snail would be feasible if I can? Mystery? Ramshorn? :help:
Thanks.

Anyone out there raising multies? It is hard to find juvies.

Any snail would be fine, multis won't bother snails.

Actually, my multis aren't fond of snails. The ones that are small enough they'll pick up and move to the edge of their territory. That having been said, I like olive nerite snails for keeping the tank algae free.

It's hard to say...I had a load of pond snails in my 55 for a while (stupid hitchhikers) and after about a month or so they all seemed to disappear except for the empty shells. But I can't tell if it was both my multis and julies or just the julies...I wouldn't risk getting something that you really like.

And don't bother finding juvies. Honestly, if you get a trio, you are bound to get a pair IME...and they will start breeding in no time.
