Sheriff Joe - Re-elected

While I think it is unusual, I don't think it's cruel. Maybe the chain gang part depending of the situation and the work.

Usually chain gangs are found totally Constitutional. I mean really, if they're on a chain gang weeding public parks and mowing the county library lawn, they are simply doing what other people would get paid to do.

Thanks Harlock...Now I can say I have no problem with it whatsoever!!!

Matak.....some warning would be good....I about fell off my chair laughing. Loved the movie!

we have "chain gangs" here in MD, that clean up the roads and do other menial tasks they are usually the DWI's and such, and from what I understand it is only the low end criminals that do get out to work on the road crews. That being said they don't really wear chains anymore, at least I've never sen any of them chained................

I would loooooovvvvvvve to see some other prisons adopt this program, obviously you really could not do it with high risk prisoners, but the low end one's sure, no problem. Now you could eliminate some of the perks from high risk prisons such as weight lifting equipment (oh yeah I want these guys to build bigger muscles  ), coffee, sure why not, and limiting them to the Weather channel and the Disney channel.............priceless :)

I agree - no weights. If some get a shot again at freedom, (.."shot"..not a choice word..oh well..) they can "pump up" on their own time and buy their own weights.

There needs to be a 'new' Weather Channel called, "The Good Weather Channel."
That's all they get to see is the good weather they are missing.
