I bought my tiger barbs at 2 different stores. The Tiger Barbs I bought at my LFS are doing excellent and appear to be in the top notch of health. The tigers I bought at "Land of Pets" (Did not see any rocks with string at this store :( ) are not as spectacular. One died and the other is hanging out by the heater shimmying and breating heavily. Much like when they are heavily infested in the gills with something but no flashing. Water parameters are excellent and I have a 0.3% salt solution in the tank. Any other suggestions? I don't have any other tanks lying around right now so seperating him is not an option.

Well I did a 95% waterchange using the water from the tank they are going to be transferred into. That way they don't get exposed to any of the ammonia or nitrites contained in my tapwater. I salted the water to 0.3% and added it to the tank. I also added my whisper 10 filter to the tank to increase surface movement. The fish seems to be better now so maybe something environmental was coming into play here.
