I just received some of the Hikari food. I can't believe how pricey this is! 10 grams for $4.00 versus 90 grams of Shirakura for $15.00 shipped. I say its a no-brainer! This was a good experiment DarrylR! My shrimps (RCS and dark greens) prefer the Shirakura as well.
Where did you happen to order yours? I've been looking for a reputable place to purchase it at a decent price.

very cheap prices around $12 for the large bag i believe with shipping included. last i heard from months-year ago he is starting up his shop in japan, and unsure if hes selling again.
$12 sounds REALLY cheap... too cheap actually. Considering it costs a min of $7 per box for shipping. Then you add the exchange rate.. it gets crazy. $12 is well already below MY cost and I am buying bulk. I got an e-mail from Shirakura this morning regarding pricing and even the Germans who are buying 1000's of units at a time are getting slammed by gas prices and the exchange rate.

It was that price with shipping included, cause Gabe lived within Japan so he could also bought in bulk or maybe its cheaper there.
The bulk rates are the same.. but the sipping charges and currencies fluctuate. Direct shipping from Japan is MUCH cheaper than having it shipped here then shipping it again (aka the double dip). I can only direct ship on orders of 25 units or above.
