Short Video

WinterWind: One of them is always quite impatient during feeding and will often take the food before I can get it into the water. The others usually wait for it to break the surface.

You really don't get much of a look at the fish in that first video. Here's another short feeding vid shot below the water level. Same species, different specimen.

wow, ive never actually seen one before... pretty cool fish

Ras I have to ask you do you ever put your hand in there for cleaning ect?
Like after feeding time when they are full. Or do you just use long extended gravel vacs ect?

:( your file server is blocked from my lan lol. Any way to upload it somewhere else?

(no joke, the category it is listed as is "Tasteless" :) )

Ash, I usually work from outside of the tank, using tongs, a net, or a long siphon hose to avoid putting my fingers at risk. In the event that I do need to actually put my hand in one of the wolf tanks, I make sure that they're very well fed (offer food until they're no longer interested in it) and then move all of the floating cover out of the way with a large net and keep my eyes on them. I always put a fist into the water, never fingers first. I hope that they're less likely to mistake a whole hand coming in at once as a food item as compared to a finger breaking the water surface. Overall, though, I try to avoid putting hands in those tanks whenever possible.

pbecot01, if you know of another free video upload site I'll give it a whirl. Putfile is simply the only one that I've found so far.

That sounds like fun. All you adrenalin junkies don't worry about bungee jumping, just go to Ras's house and put your hand in his wolf fish tank. LOL. Seriously though , it must take some ba**'s to put your hand in there.
