He is 12-13" long, and is an albino adontis pleco. They are very unique looking. He is absolutely gorgeous!! By the way, how much would one of these normally cost at this size? I tried looking up some more info on them, but they are very hard to find on the internet. I know the babies go from $150-$350. That is all I found.

its too easy to stunt a fish that size. hed need closer to 300 gallons. plecos are not agile fish. they need an enormous footprint to move around. dont get the fish unless you can provide an adequate environment for him

The guy that is selling him has him in the same size tank as I am putting him in. He is still small for this type of pleco. I have a 16" common in my 300g display tank. I would switch the common and the possible new pleco, but I have my angelfish breeders in the 300g tank. He will not be in the 55g but for maybe 2 to 3 weeks. The 125g is still cycling, and will be done in about a week.

just because someone has something one way doesnt mean its going to be good for the fish.

dont ask for advice if you are not going to heed it

I was really asking about the cost of him. Should I buy him for the amount. That is whay I put up the baby pleco cost. I meant to put in the begginning that the guy was asking $500 for him, as I think that it is a hell of a deal!!

The guy who has him has done a great job raising the pleco. He is not stunted at all, and the pleco's streamers are long, and are perfect. You can't see him fully in the pic though.

I am going to buy him!! I found a great website that gave a ton of info. on the species, and the average price. Thanks inkyjenn for your replies about the pleco. I seen a pic of your pleco eating, and he looks nice and chubby!! Great job!!

Good luck with your new Pleco..........:)

I would buy it in a heartbeat.
