should I cover my tank at night?

hi, all! :hi: I need to know if it's a good idea to cover my tank at night, like I do with my budgie's cage. whenever I do, they all seem more active and vibrant in the morning than when I don't. I know most fish are crepuscular, and I just want to know if its unecessary.

The reason for covering a budgie is to keep the heat in. You dont have to do that with your fish as you have the heater doing that

well, here it is the height of summer, and because I live at such a northernly latitude, it's light 20 hours a day, even at 11:00 PM! so I cover their enclosures so they can both get a good night's sleep, not to keep them warm.
