Should I ditch my Eclipse 12 for the sake of my plants?

I have several swords, even the red varieties and they are growing wonderfully, one with runners. I have a mini lily as well that is bright and red. My java fern has baby plants all over it. So as you can see you can successfully keep higher light plants.
The Co2 system fits fine, the only thing than needs to go through the hood is the tubing, which I pretty much smash between the tank and the hood and it still comes through fine.
I also use Eco Complete for substrate and regularly dose with liquid ferts. I'm sure that helps things.

Here's a photo of my tank: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108754&highlight=gal+freshwater

You can do it!!!!!

I have no idea what a Ddemmel is, I'm sorry to say. But I'm willing to learn.

Sorry to confuse, I was referring to using a Dremmel tool to make an airline-sized hole. My bad

PS: Geofield....no, I live in the south. But I do know of Willoughby, Ohio...people ask me that all the time.

Ah, darn. I probably could have hooked you up if you were local to me (plants/pieces/parts). Oh well.

Keep us posted.

geofield, you rock. Thanks for the offer regardless.

My husband was a carpenter many moons ago and says we have dremmel bits somewhere in the house. Thank God. I can probably coerce him into drilling a hole if I find the Hagen system today.

This is a great tank! And a remarkable point for the dark substrate showing people how natural it can look... I swear I'm looking at a bog...

FYI, my wife got me my first Nutrafin (Hagen) CO2 setup online for ~$20. I broke down and got my second one at PetSmart for $29 by pricematching to their Web price (impulse buy). Try not to pay much over $30 for it. I do love it though.

If your hubby was into carpentry you should make him fashion a special light hood for the top of your tank :D

Just ordered the Hagan, a Coralife Colormax mini compact bulb and a clamp lamp (typically for reptiles) that has a long, flexible neck.

I spent about 10 minutes looking at the Nutrafin at the petsmart and didn't buy it. I couldn't figure out if it was the same thing as the Hagan. Plus, it was $8 more than the one online.

Can't wait.
