I finally bought some clown loaches :p: who have been QT'ed for 3 weeks this Saturday. I am very nervous about them introducing any disease to my main tank. I haven't got to observe them as much as I would like because they are soooo timid. But when I have, they behave normally, look perfectly healthy, eating, etc. They are in the tank with 3 very small scissortails who have only been in QT for 2 weeks, but also look very good. Should I wait a little longer still, or go for it!?? Not sure what I"m going to do, just thought I'd get some opinions :)

theres an article on here abour Qtanks isnt there?
The recomendation was for one month.
If you are going to do it at all, I'd say do it thoroughly.
Also, I'd think that adding new fish two weeks ago would start the clock ticking again.
so, If it were me, Id say give it another two weeks. but I couldn't tell you why lol. googled qtanks?

I read some of the info on here when I first set it up, but there were alot of opinions, so I figured a couple more wouldn't hurt!!! I want to do it correctly and feel confident about their health, but its so frustrating!!! I can't wait to get them into the main tank

Now that I went back and re-read, Harlocks QT article does recommend 30 days ... I guess I can handle another couple of weeks

awwww, you can do it,Holly.
Think of it as just some special time that you get to spend with your new fish lol.
in fact think of the QT as your
"Quality Time tank"
:joke:

Your clowns are still timid? Hmmm,........you don't dance in front of the tank when you're observing them right? lol j/k

But it does strike me as odd, because at the two week mark, my clowns were all over the QT and eating from my hand.

I can't wait to see your main tank. Do you have pics of the 180 yet? Of the Balas?

Still timid :mad2: . But the tank conditions are good, so I hope they'll come around once they have some more room and some more hiding spots (confined to one cave now). I do think hunger is finally getting the best of them, they come out now when I put some shrimp pellets in. They're funny, one will come out, then 4 little faces will appear at the entrance of the cave and the rest will come out single file  . I have some pics somewhere, but I don't think they're very good. Once I get the clowsn in and a couple more plants (still fake for now) I'll have to put some up :p:
