should I get eheim 2217? Confused...

When can I add 2 little fish? I was thinking of adding my 2 black mollies from my 10 gallon tank to cycle the tank. Is that enough or will it take forever to cycle with only 2 little fish?

I would reccomend a fishless cycle.

Before you start with 2 in a 60 gallon, go back to the LFS since you made a big purchase there and ask the owner if you can have some established media, even if it dirty, in fact its better. At least 1 cup full of disposable floss or whatever they can spare.

Rinse the old media in the bag of free aquarium water they also give you and install it into your new filter and pre-treated tank water. Then add 2 molly and monitor the water every 2 days, after about a week add the 2 more, then on the third week if perimeters are still free of ammonia and Nitrite, add the rest. I have gone slow like this and never lost a fish.

You can always use some media bags with the 2217, depending on what kind of media you're after.....
