Should I get my new bristlenose a peice of driftwood?

Will it help bring him out more into the open instead of hiding all day?

If I do get some, how long must I soak it for before I add it to the tank?

Thanks

If you buy the Malaysian driftwood, you won't have to bother soaking it... just rinse it off. Your Plec is a nocturnal type fishy, so maybe some moonlights will help you see him more often. They actually need it as part of their diet and like to hang upside down underneath, if possible.

If the driftwood piece is small enough, boiling it helps reduce soaking time, and sterilizes it. It can also win you strange/angry looks from family members, so take this tip with a grain of salt!

BN need something softer than maylasian- cyprus works great. Softer wood is best bit it wont stay down without help for a good while. You can hold it down using a variety of techniques from putting a rock on top or using a tile attached w/ a SS screw.
