I'm wondering if i could get more fish for this tank...its 6 gallons. Right now its got..

2 live plants (im not sure what type, but they are kinda just long grass),

2 adult guppies (male and female)

2 black mollies (male and female)

10 baby guppies (5 are newborns, the other 5 are 1 months old)

1 small plecko

Could i get another fish? Perhaps a shrimp or something neat like that?

Oh and also, is it true that bettas can be non agressive in community tanks like this?

well, here's the problem. If you could keep it 2 guppies, 2 mollies and 10 baby guppies you'd be ok but in a very short time you have 12 fullgrown guppies and most likely dozens more baby guppies and mollies and you are way, way, way, way overstocked. Not to mention that "small pleco" is going to be a very big pleco in a short time as well. My current 8" pleco was just under 3" long last july and he's only about half grown. Here's what I would do, pick whether you want guppies or mollies. If you really want both, take the female molly, female guppy and most of the baby guppies except a couple males and the pleco back to the store and trade them in for another male molly or platy and a couple oto's and a couple ghost shrimp (since you were asking about those). If you don't think the store will take them back, find someone who will take them. At the least you can probably find someone with larger cichlids who will take them as feeders. If the place you bought them won't take them back, maybe you can find another lfs that will. good luck, Kyle

I forgot about the betta question. bettas are extremely varied temperament between individuals. Many people keep them in community settings but I havn't had much luck. My last bettas, 1 male and 1 female, were in my 55 gallon until they killed all my guppies and would chase the mollies. I think they don't like fish their own size because they didn't even notice any of my tetras. kyle

from what i've learned by screwing up with MANY bettas in the past. they dont like things that look like them.

so if you have mollies, which look similar, you could have a problem. and if you have fancy long tailed colorful guppies, you could have more of a problem.

if you have something that isnt quite as bright and colorful for example, zebra danios, then theres no problem.

and it deends on the betta as well. i've had some very grumpy little guys that wanted to pick on the biggest fish in the tank, and i've had soem very laid back ones that just wanted to be left alone.

I would have to vote no on the adding fish to a 6 gallon tank. And what kind of pleco is it? All excpet for maybe the bulldog pleco will get far too large for that tank. The smaller ones tend to be 4-5 inches in length and the bigger ones can get up to 2 feet. And they are poop machines.
