Should I leave the light on all day for plants?

Ok I have 29 galleon tank with different types of plant.
I have 2wpg right now.
I was seeing if leaving the light on all day affect anything? Is it bad or good?

BAD to much light will promote algea growth think 8-10hours a day is what you should aim for with lighting after a certain point your plants wont benifit from it.

Get a light timer,and set it for the lights to be on for 8 to 10 hours.
