Should I shorten lighting cycle? Plants closing up!

I changed my timers so I can see the tank later in the evening. Lights on at 8 a.m. and off at 9 p.m. (was 7-8). Around 8p.m., my R. wallichii and Ambulia fold up their leaves. I thought they may adjust (didn't notice this b4) but was wondering if I should change back. Are they trying to tell me something?

No. Many plants often close up a few hours before the lights go off. I believe cabomba is notorious for setting its own biological clock (lots of people asking this question on plant forums!). My difformis, zosterifolia, and rotala do it all the time. No worries Some just sleep early

It may adjust - it may not. It should be fine either way.

Especially if they are used to a certain photo-period and it's lengthened.
I call it 'jet lag'. They'll get used to the new regimen in time.

My cabumba def. likes to goto sleep before the light cycle is over.. but for me it's ~30 minutes before my timer goes off..
