well there go my hopes and dreams.... just talked to my dad and he was telling me that when the neighbor was trying to start it the other day he was having issues and from the sound of it, it wasn't too good of a rebuild job on the car. maybe I'll find something else, but now that I've seen what they look like, I like them. maybe something new for me to look out for
If you're looking for something reliable this isn't something I'd look at anyway. More like a project car that you don't mind dumping money into.
I knew about them, but I have not seen one in a LONG time, since I was a kid. Odd for something that was a very good selling car at one time apparently, but not extremely collectible to most people I guess. Plus I'm from Ohio so perhaps many of the ones sold there rusted and went to the junk yard.Yea I've always liked AMC AMX's because you dont see them too much so I'm surprised I never knew about these.
As far as AMC AMX's, some guy around here has an oddball AMC Spirit AMX (not as ugly as the normal spirit). It's gutted (which is fine, I wanted to replace everything) but not much rust (well..for an AMC

Of course he's just gonna let it sit there and rot. He has a whole yard full of AMCs and as far as I know won't sell any and won't do anything with 'em. It's a shame. Lots of oddball AMCs sitting in his yard.
