I bought him from Massive Aggression and he told me it was a jurupari.... he is a geophagus expert. Anyways I really love this geo.
Well I guess your right... but it doesn't matter because I love him..hes my favorite.Here are some photos of the two. I believe yours looks like the first picture, which is a S. leucosticta. The second photo is a S. jurupari. Jurupari lack facial markings. I'm not trying to be mean, it just bothers me when fish are incorrectly labeled.

Wow thats cool...you should get a jurpari..Here are some older pics. I'm in the process of moving all my gymnogeos to their own 60g tank so I can cool them down this winter. I have two species: Gymnogeophagus n. sp. "Sequiera" and G. labiatus.
