show your moss wall

^beautiful tank

Nice tanks and moss walls everyone, I've always wanted to try one of these.

Thanks.

I was using the moss wall as shelter for my shrimp until the foreground grew in then it became part of the scape because I had nothing better for the space. If finally so over grown I had to pull it out but it is still shelter in the 45g long for the shrimp against the GBRs. My problem now is I'm finding moss all over my 180g picking out of everything the more dense the plant the more of a pain it is by the time you see it it has settled. I still keep small amounts of flame and fissden cause I like the look but the phoenix moss had to go. I like the moss tank idea but doubt I could manage that on a large scale so I may repurpose one of my smaller tanks :)

Sorry for the spinoff, but if I do a moss-only planted tank, do I need to do the expensive Fluorite base substrate first? Or can I just use a good, fine quality gravel substrate and fertilize, CO2 and light properly? Thanks!

I'm sure someone else can correct me but from my experience substrate isn't import with moss they get there nutrients from the water column. I've grown moss in bare bottom tanks but for scaping you'll likely be more interested in what you attach it to driftwood, rocks or some other type of decoration even moss walls as originally stated in this thread.

i would like to use a moss wall in a small 6g. would this overtake the tank quickly or be fine so long as i trim it back?

will a moss (java) wall work in a humid terranium? I plan on spraying it occassionly to help it adapt?
thanks. (the wall is currently submerged, but it's not grown in very far yet.)

I think it would work with an occassional trim. :)
