At the local walmart (don't start with the criticism) they have freshwater shrimp for like 25cents each. I was considering getting a couple, but I didn't know if they would be compatible with my current fish. I have some guppies, mollies, a few gold wonder killifish, and 1 large angelfish. Will they be ok with those fish???

I am guessing they are the clear ghost shrimp since they are only 25 cents. The only fish I would be concerned with would be the angel. It may eat the shrimp and it may not. If it does eat the shrimp you will only be out one quarter. If it doesn't, you can get him/her some friends.

I have several living in my freshwater tank.

Some people may be offended by my lack of concern for the life of the ghost shrimp, but I buy them weekly as food for my puffer.

If it's that cheap, it's probably a ghost shrimp. I have several with some dwarf cichlids and have no problems. These shrimp are great scavangers. They are constantly finding food that has slipped between the cracks and are kind of fun to watch (my girlfriend thinks they're creepy). Whenever the shrimp wander into cichlid territory the fish will nip them. The shrimp shoot back and up and then start to drift back down. Fish nip them again. It reminds me of those big beach balls at concerts. Shrimp don't seem any worse for thier experience.

Thanks guys. They are the ghost shrimp. I think that maybe I will buy 1 and see how my angel reacts. He is a fairly docile angelfish so hopefully the shrimp will be ok. I just think they are kind of neat looking.
