Hey all!

last sunday I was just randomly visiting a lfs 1 hour away from where I live and saw red and white crystal shrimp. After I got over my excitment (there's not alot of shrimp variety in my neck of the woods) I handed over a small fortune for the last 4 in the tank. The shrimp have their own tank and two have molted in less than a week (one did it when I was watching was soooo cool)

Anyhoo I was at my own lfs today and they have in red cherry shrimp (again something I've not seen other than in ebay) my question is this Will cherry shrimp interbreed with the RCS ?I don't want to buy them if they do cause my red and white ones are very attractive! Also on a side note one of the RCS has onlt one eye didn't notice until I got home will that pose any problems??

Thanks

They won't cross, but the two species prefer different water conditions.

I agree, they can live together without interbreeding but what is your source water ph? Alos, crystals like much cooler water and softer water than cherry shrimp.

yet again i agree, they wony interbreed and can live together but they do prefare different water conditions, but thats not realy a problem.

Just sharing
