Shrimp Hierarchy?

Ok, this is a really random question. Do shrimp have an hierarchy? Specifically RCS?

The reason I ask this is that one of my shrimp, a bright red female, seems to be bossing the other ones around. She is way redder than all the others, and bigger too. I've had her and two males longer than all my other shrimp. I don't know if she's actually being dominant over the other shrimp, or if that's how all shrimp act towards each other, though I haven't noticed the others doing it nearly as much.

I haven't really noticed this either. Pretty much in my tank the biggest shrimp get what they want.

not to hijack the thread...but those big red ones...are they usually male or female or could it be both (i.e. is there a difference between male/female appearance, or is it simply based on age)

Usually females are bigger and more of a bright red. Males are a bit smaller and not as colorful.

Oh, yeah, she's a female, I know that for sure.

Maybe she's just more noticeable than all the others and it makes it seem like she's the boss.
