Will cherry shrimp do well in a livebearer tank? I have fancy guppies and platies, cory cats, otos, a pleco, a frog, a crab, and a rainbow shark. Thanks!

Yea, I just got done posting about that on another thread. It is quite horrible what the livebearers do to a poor shrimp, they look like little vulchures. also the crab and frogs, if they are able to catch the shrimp, will also pick them apart.

I've got rcs in with platies, pristella tetras, white clouds, and sae. The fish never bother the shrimp. They even all get together and eat algae wafers at the same time.

My tank is somewhat planted, with some artificial mixed in, and some cave/bridge/castle hiding places. But I lost the nerve. I think the shrimp are really cute, and don't really want to watch them be torn to bits. Thanks for all of the advice!

I did accidentally get a ghost shrimp in with some guppies I bought once, and it lasted about two weeks before it ended up dead. Looked kindof twisted up, but no one was bothering it. Hmmmm...

It's the young shrimp that will be the main casualties. I would also watch out for your crab. When it molts, the fish could easily kill it.
