Shrimp

I have one ghost shrimp in my tank, cute lil fella anyways i have continued to find skeletons like skins of the shrimp. They aernt from babies because they are regular size. I put one shrimp in. Still only have one shrimp...do they shed like snakes???whats the deal?

Yes, ghost shrimp molt. I am not sure how often they do it but they definitely do, hence the need for some cover for them, they need it as protection until there new skin hardens. I hope this helps.

Crustaceans molt - it is the only way they can grow. They do need a refuge for the first hours-day or so after molting as they are soft food at that time.

I had 4. I don't know if they molted or melted. I think they're really "ghost" shrimp now...if ya know what I mean. :sad
