They get a bit bigger than SAEs so hopefully he's in a tank suitable for his eventual growth. Nice specimen.

It's in a quarantine tank at the moment, (new fish)
but it will be residing in a 100g.

True SAEs don't have any color in their fins (except for the stripe through the tail) and the dorsal surface is pretty much the same color as the belly (or at least isn't way darker).

actually, ive seen many sae's with yellow fins. The best I.D. for this fish is the black bar going all the way through to the tail, and no color on their fins as a Juvy.

I agree with that. Tristan (loaches are cool) kept some yellow-finned true SAE's. See sticky thread for his photos.
