Siamese alge eater

First of all, I think that you are overstocked. The angelfish alone are going to out grow that tank in no time. If you want an algae eater for that tank I would suggest some otos. They stay small and do an amazing job on the algae. They are always busy, busy, busy.

that tank seems a little overstocked...not only the angels, but the shark does get territorial and moderately sized as well.

Otos are good but there are many types of algae an oto won't touch that an SAE will touch and vice-versa. I never use one without the other except in my Amazon tank because it would compromise the biotope.

You are quite overstocked in your 30g however. I wouldn't even put otos in there. First consider another tank.

Just be aware that full grown Angels are known to attempt to eat Otto's. As for SAE, don't buy just one and be advised that your Shark is most likely going to chase them around the tank. My Shark chases my SAE's but never does any damage.

If you are having a serious algae problem it would be a good idea to find out why. Perhaps too much light with no live plants? Overfeeding? Algae eating fish are great, but they aren't miracle workers! :)

Angils are fine in a thirty gallon tank. That is a pair of them but yes I would say your tank is crouded right now. The larger the aquarium the more crouded I go. I beleive there is a big difference between a 30 and a 55 and depending on the fish will put around three time the fish in the 55. But consider this there is already limmited room in your thirty. The fish need to swimm and as they get bigger they need more room and produce more waiste. One thing I look for when I am stocking fish is that the fish seem happy and are not stressing. I also watch the water paramiters if my filter is not doing the job then I am way over stocked. I don't see your fish being able to have free swimming as they grow. Please use these guidlines though becouse only you can see how they are doing and remember they will grow.

Oh your getting a 60G for x-mas. Thin out that tank. Maybe leave just the angils in it that would be awsome. Post a picture of your sixty when you get it and keep us informed through the cycling.

Then get one. JUST ONE though. I was thinking of getting a new tank AND SAE like you in December already... we can do it together! Just keep in mind, SAEs can get aggressive... but I've never heard of problems with them directly from other people... I don't know. Just try it though... :)
