Sick Angels..

External Bacterial Infection

Symptoms: There are a great deal of possible symptoms associated with this disorder. There may be spots on the body which appear red or orange. Watch for red streaks on the surface on the body. Dropsy (bloating) is also a sign of a bacterial disorder. "False Fungal Infections" look like fungus but is actually a bacterial infection known as Columnaris. These symptoms may include a white or gray film on the body.

Treatment: There are a number of effective treatments for many stains of bacterial infections. Three of the most common are tetracycline, penicillin and naladixic acid. Salt baths are another effective treatment.

Information: Bacterial infections are often difficult to diagnose due to the many different types. Orange or red streaks on the body is usually the only fool-proof method for the determination of a bacterial infection.

TTA, I think you're right, from this desription it is exactly what's wrong with my babies.
I have never seen tetracycline, penicillin and naladixic acid in my LFS's, are there any other treatments I could use??
Thanks

just look for an antibiotic... i've occasionally seen antibiotic fish food which might be a good option.

common is:
maracyn-erythromycin effective for gram +
maracyn 2 -minocycline effective gram -
maracyn tc-tetracycline

marcyn and marcyn2 are designed to work together as broadspectrum antibiotics. and are very effective.

Well I didn't see your post, star_rider, or I would have tried maracyn, since my meds cost me $15.

The angels already look better, there is no trace of the white anywhere on them :perv:
The treatment says I should do this for about 3-4 days.. but since I have them in the 5g(I set it up and filled it with tank water and used a filter from the 55g, set on low of course), I have enough meds to treat the tank 20 times... I think I'll keep their treatment up for at least a week.

TC is another broad spectrum antibiotic.
usually the course of action for anitbiotics is 7-10 days.
