I think my angels might be sick again, th back fins on one of them are quite torn at first i thought it may have been from defending its eggs so much over th past few days, but then i noticed some white stuff on the mouth and eye of another, what do you think? probbaly a fungus right? All my tst vials seem to be missing right now but the tank is stable and i dont see why my params would be out of whack. I had a guppy die about a month ago and another one went missing a while ago as far as i know there have been no other deaths in the tank, shuold i grab some pimafix and go for it?

EDIT: I have a 45 gallon tank that is not cycled yet but it is up and running with a filter but wuldnt it be quite stressful for me to move them? I also have some geltek in the fridge, it is the one with ampicillin, i put a few drops in and they kind of just grabbed it and spit it out but probbaly got a little

Try PimaFix and MelaFix together but a little less than you would normally dose 3/4 amount. Remove carbon. What other fish do you have by the way? When it's feeding time, try using geltek on the foods and feed them it. Buy a new test kit :) "Aquarium pharmaceuticals freshwater master test kit" I highly recommend it. And the tank is not cycled? Ohh man..!you gotta keep up with the water changes! Like I said, buy a new test kit and get it together. Be sure to add water conditioners to the water before introducing the new water to the tank..Be careful not to go above changing 40% of the water. Don't mess with the filter or go beyond rising the quilt battling and gravel. Because if you do mess up and forget, you are removing the beneficial bacteria (nitrobacters and nitrosomas) that can break down ammonia and nitrite. Once you have nitrate, you are good. It's harmless when it is in low-medium levels 10 or 30. So once ammonia gets to zero, nitrites should be going up, and, same thing, keep up with water changes until nitrites are completely at 0; Nitrates should be at 10 and you have completed the biological cycle!

hey man, you may have read wrong, my 75G is established with the stocking in my sig. My 45G is going through its cycle right now; its currently empty. Do you think i should quaratine thme in there? i think it may have spread to at least 3 of my 6 angels by now i have just misplaced my test vils, i have all the chemicals already so i wont be buying a new one. Coating the food with the gel tek is a good idea, but i feed live and frozen, ill give it a shot, what do you think could have caused this considering all my params are good?

Stress can make an otherwise healthy fish take ill quickly. Without the test vials, it is hard to be sure your parameters are good.

definity stress indicators.

you should find the vials and test.
I do not suspect ammonia or nitrites to be an issue.
possibly nitrates (tho unlikely)

how old are the angels(what size?) are any looking like they are pairing up?
do you notice any aggression?
frayed fins are a good indicator of aggression. if the aggression is bad enough the angels may appear to have 'fin rot'
are any of them hiding?

:iagree: I would guess that the stress of defending their eggs and or fry was the trigger.

I would move the pair out asap they will if healthy spawn every 10 days or so.

How long has the 45 been cycling? can you add some gravel or a filter pad to th 45 to get the cycle done?

A little salt and a temp up and they all seem fine. My angels behavior is quite complex, the tank is in my bedroom so i watch them all day, they fight constantly but not over mating, they fight over territory, there is one pair, but in the last week the female has left her mate and gone to the other side of the tank to spawn with a different male, this si the first time there has been spawning since being in the new tank, they seem like they have gotten more agressive since being put into the 75.
