:help: Im stumped at whats wrong with my loaches.. heres a half decent picture of one of my sick loach. :help:
http://img363.imageshack.us/my.php?image=loach6zt.jpg

Here's their symptoms... they would "tip" over... breath rapidly... real red gills.
Theres some abrasion on them probably from being in weird positions. I noticed that their activity level have been decreased for last 1 or 2 weeks and yesterday I thought that one of my loach have kicked the bucket but it was still alive and today I found out that all of my 3 loaches are sick with same symptoms.
I've been debating on whether to go ahead and try to treat them for whatever unknown parasite they might have or is it too late for any treatment?
Somebody suggested treating them prazipro, I havent had the chance to go out to the store yet. :(
Oh, yes I have tested my water for you who loves to ask that water question. Ammonia: 0, Nitrite: 0, and Nitrate: somewhat over 10. I believe my water parameters are just fine. As matter of fact my bamboo shrimp molted 2 days ago. Oh my residents of 10g is a betta, paradise fish and bamboo shrimp along w/ 3 sick loaches. (BTW, its a divided 10g).

Ok, heres the main questions:
1) What might be affecting my loaches? Type of parasite?
2) Is it too late to treat the loaches?
3) Any danger for my other fish in there? Do I need to treat the whole tank to be safe? Any good treatment that wouldn't hurt my bamboo shrimp or the snails I have in there.

Thanks for reading and your help in advance

Well I went out and brought 2 different kind of meds. I still don't know if they are safe for snails and shrimp. The meds are Anit-Bacteria Medicated fish food from Jungle and Maracide from Mardel.
I don't know which one I should use or go ahead and use both. I only want to make sure if these are right meds and are safe.

You should set up a quarantine tank. Most parasite medications are not good for shrimp or snails I believe.

My kuhli just died and I found out the reason was he ate baby snails shell and all and the resulting impaction and bloating killed him...

Yeah, I know that a QT tank comes in handy but I don't have the space for a QT tank. I live in a small apt.
Well, heres the update... all 3 kuhili loaches died. I'm still working on figuring out what kind of meds I need to treat my other fish for prevention. I'd hate for them to get sick so far I'm not sure which meds I should use. As you can see in the previous post that I've brought 2 meds but I haven't used them yet. I didn't know which ones will be more effective. I was thinking maybe I'll bring back those meds and get maracyn and maracyn-two instead, since I found out that those are safe for inverts while maracide can cause some reaction w/ some inverts... I read the paper they had in the package so thats how I found out.
O well.. I guess I've got it all figured out a bit too late.
