Hello
Can anyone give me any advice, my bristlenose seems to have developed some kind of ulcer ? started as a white patch but now larger and looks sore. Have added melafix to tank and isolated bristlenose in breeding tank within.
Seems healthy, eating and scuttling around as normal.
Also noticed faint white patch on tail :(
Could this be an injury (scrapping with Golden Nugget)
Looks as though there are tiny white dots on sore patch too.

Very young fish, only had 2 months.

I would be most gratefull if anyone could shed any light or has any ideas

Many Thanks

Where on the fish's body are the ulcers? I figured mine got his hiding behind the heater. I put it in a q tank...no meds, just kept the water clean and it healed.

Hi

Ammonia,Nitrate and Nitrate levels all good.

10% water change weekly

Melafix daily

King British Safe Guard,Interpet Flora Burst, Liquisil and Filter Aid also added

Juwel 180L Tank

Tankmates:

I Blue Gourami
11 Rummynose
1 Golden Nugget (3")
1 Plec (peckoltia L147 - poor little guy doesn't have a common name yet 5")
3 Silver Sharks
3 Corydoras
1 Platy
5 Community Barbs (forgot which ones)
4 Cardinals
6 Neons
7 Mountain Minnows

Ave temp 27C

Lots of hiding places for the Plecs but nosy little Bristlenose keeps bothering the Golden Nugget.

Ulcer on side (Bristlenose 2") about 5mm round

However, Just got in from work and it seems (fingers crossed) redness seems to have faded and fish looking a little better :)

Have had a few tank problems lately and have had to use other medications over last month or so (internal bacteria and fungus)Went on hols and my fish sitter let things slide .. came home to a couple of casulties and a sludge filled filter so taken a while to get back on track again.

All fish seem great and the Bristlenose not showing any signs of ill health other than wound/ulcer.

My Golden Nugget can be grumpy and I initially had a problem when he was tiny with him fighting with the larger Plec, petshop told me he was a nice community fish who had no probs with other plecs !! ... yeah right ! (resulted in the stroppy little Nugget getting the Cr*p beaten out of him (Mr L147 nearly killed him) and me creating lots of nooks and crannies) I think the Bristlenose has been beaten up but not 100% sure ? It persists in bothering the Golden Nugget and going in his house !
