I found sensai had died today when I got home form work - my first failed fish
when removing him I noticed he was graying around the face and under the belly.
There was a strange fine foam around the outside of my tank(on the inside) it wasn't present earlier and it was only after sensai had died.
Now im worried about the rest of my fish - I don't want it happening to them too.
I've got 2 blue rams 4 danios and 2 head and tail light tetras a pleco and a corydora. They all seem to be fine.
I was just wondering if somone could help me out with what to do with all the gear in my QT tank. I have a thermometer and a filter - how do I remove any dangerous bacteria or diseases from these items - i want to use them again eventually.
This lady had a Betta that died, which was another thread, but this thread has a lot of helpful information and suggestions for cleaning and making your tank safe for new occupants. Would also be appropriate info for disinfecting your QT.
Hope this helps. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.
Sidenote: All the folks here on the AC are interested in helping others, but there are so many posts. You get pretty quick help if you convey your level of distress in the title of your thread. It grabs the attention when you see someone that sounds sorta desperate, which has been the case with me on more than one ocassion.
My threads have often been titled "Help!!! Help!!!" or "Nitrites and Ammonia!! Help!!" or something along those lines.:shakehead:
Kinda like yellin' "FIRE!!"
I've had sooooo much help along the way, and I'm still learning new things everyday. Just stroll through the different forums and when you see a thread title that sounds interesting to you, read it. You can see how others have dealt with issues, and you can learn from others mistakes and successes.
