:help:
I have a gold fish that I was treating for ich with salt and now he has RED specks all over him along with the white specks and he is just floating around the bottom and occationally thrashing against the glass. I added lots of aeration and he should be ok for O2 but he is lethargic and red speckled on the fins and belly and ALL OVER!! ARG!! I AM FREAKING OUT!!!! HELP!!
PS he is eating with great relish though....

in a few days the ich should fall off, and with salt in the water no more should be able to attatch to the fish. Keep with the salt for about 3 weeks. The red specks may be small injuries from thrashing around. what sort of decorations are with the fish? any plastic plants or anything with sharp or jagged edges should be removed. Maybe check if the gravel is sharp as well.
If the red specks arn't injuries they may be a secondary infection, but I don't think I can give much info about that so maybe someone else knows.

a healthy apetite is a very good sign. feed fresh foods like peas and blanched vegies and brine shrimp etc. Dried foods like flakes are genoraly not good for any fish for many reasons. if that's all you have, soak the food in water for a few minutes before giving it to the fish. then it won't bother the fishes digestive tract. (this is good practice to do even when fish are healthy)
