Hello. One of my gouramis looks quite sick. Few days ago it started making really long poop. At first i thought it was normal, but now the poop is whitish/opaque and the gourami looks really discolored and inactive, i'm afraid it might die :(
What should i do?

oh no!

I'm sorry your gourami died, but maybe you can help with mine. I, too, have noticed whitish bowel movements from my Gourami. He also is "sleeping" on his side much like my Clown Loaches do (which the other Gouramis don't do), has some wear and tear on his back fin and has some worn down scales only on his right side. Do any of these symptoms sound familiar and - if anyone knows - what could this be? I just lost a bala shark to fungus a couple of weeks ago and I've never lost a fish before that.

Posted a more complete description with tank parameters under "Help with the Sickness, Please"

your water parameters are off, gourami never sleep on their sides. if your parameters are off they will loose their color and die, Please test your water and post the parameters

Nod, Northstar.

There have been a lot of posts about sick gouramis of late and it always ends up that the water quality is off.

Pretty obvious that these guys are sensitive to less than "pristine" conditions.
