I started noticing that my GSP's fin is deteriorating... anyone know why? My ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10... hmmm.... is there any medication for it?

i'm definatly NOT an expert on this at all, but i've heard some good things about malafix. also is there anything else in the tank that could be nibbling?

hydrometer 1.015, RIP to my GSP... I believe it might have to do with where I bought them. Last time I visited them, the whole tank was full of sick GSPs like mine... need to find a new LFS... my other fish seems to be fine. Did a 50% water change yesterday...

if he was young, that might have been too high of amount of salt. i'm sure RTR could elaborate on the subject.

please correct me if i'm wrong but i'm thinking it was like juveniles around 1.005 to 1.008 - 2-4" 1.010 to 1.016 and adults 4"+ to 1.018 to full salt water conditions. but i'm trying to remember the article but can't find it and i'm thinking that's what it was. RTR is the expert on this subject though. Just trying to help out some.

We really don't know when in size/age they need to be moved up in density. I have seen tiny GSPs in full marine, but we do know this is not what they do in the wild. They breed in estuaries/mangrove swamps, so BW at some level. The small ones in the trade are caught in low BW tidal areas. The adults are high BW to SW (rather like Monos and Scats).

Pufferpunk has a good article on them on the Puffer Forum in the Library there. I would follow that timetable myself.
