I found a internal parasite med at the last LFS wich had metronizole and sodium chloride. I put it into my tank an hour ago. It said to remove the active carbon, do a 25% change and then add 1 teaspoons for every 5 gallons. I should have just dumped the bottle into the tank insted of doing it a tsp @ a time. So I have to do a 25% every other day and add more med for upto 3 treatments

Update Day 3 of treatment: My terror is much more active than he was before I started the treatment. I still havent seen him eat but he's pooping and its not clear but white. He keeps attacking my Firemouths for no reason and they are bigger than him so I dont get it. I dont see any wounds or nipped fins on my Firemouths so thats good. I tried feeding them beef heart but the only ones who eat it are my cons. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to try for food? right now they are eating TetraMin PRO tropical crisps.

bloodworms(frozen-thawed) mysis shrimp and or brine shrimp.

jungle makes a anit parasite med(food) too.
metronidazole is one of the meds used to treat internal parasites as is praziquantel , fenbenzadole, flubenzadole and Levamisole Hcl.
you can also find cocktail meds available api now packages a parasit med pack that is a combo of metro and prazi. jungle packages fizz tab antiparasite med (also metro and prazi)
the others are available thru a veterinarian.

I glad to see that I have a lot of options on what to treat my fish with. I’m using jungle internal parasite guard to treat the tank and tomorrow is the last day for treatment. As of today he’s eating some flakes and is swimming freely as where he was just hiding in a cave 4 days ago. As for feeding him live food he has 20 to 30 con fry to eat but I think there too big to fit into his mouth. I don’t want to feed him feeder fish do to the fact they could give him something much worse than internal parasites. I have frozen beef heart that I’ve been putting in the tank but my cons are the only ones who will eat it. How could he have contracted this? He's the newest one and Ive had him for 2 months.
