I bought 2 Clown Loaches atthe same time, out of the same tank. They were both about the same size, one of them is doing very well and nice and healthy, and the other is just getting skinny. When i feed them, he eats like its his first time seeing food! He is getting skinier......and his gils appear to have a different color. Almost a redish grey color. He's active, just as active as the rest, he's just getting skinnier and skinnier. Any ideas???????????

he probably has some kind of intestinal parasite.. i would QT him and treat him for it immediately. if he gets too weak he'll stop eating and once that happens, treatment is futile. if you don't have a QT tank then treat your whole tank. good luck.

As of right now, i dont have a QT tank......any idea what i should use to treat or just go to the LFS and ask them? Thanks for the help

I wouldn't ask the LFS. IME they usually know as much about fish as my foot knows about shakespear, and I hope they told how huge clown loaches can grow....

anyway, I agree that it's probably an internal parasite due to the fact that clown loaches are still collected from the wild. I would buy an internal parasite remedy that you can soak the fishes food in, and feed the specific clown loach that food item to deliver him the meds.
