I noticed that my CAE's lip looked like it had blood collecting in it. Around his mouth is a sort of redish pink. There is no swelling that I can see. What could be wrong and is there anything I can do. It seems to be acting fine.

I am going to try to put a picture in.

Some info about my tank.
125 gallons (cycled)
pictus catfish
rubber lip pleco
CAE
severum
blood parrot (natural not dyed)
convict
firemouth
silver dollars
giant danios
rosy barbs

Not really. Is there anything sharp in the tank (substrate, ornament) that he could have cut himself on as he was moving forward sucking? Keep water conditions immaculate and keep a watch on it. If it gets worse (or doesn’t get better), then I guess quarantine him for treatment, maybe just with salt or Melafix or if it develops fungus, a medicine for that. In that event, good luck catching him, although mine is a real sissy and hides in his cave, so I can just put a net over one end, my hand over the other and transfer the whole thing over.

I don't think there is anything sharp in there. I will watch him to see what happens. And catching him will not be fun at all. It was hard enough to catch him in the 55 to move to the 125.
