My 13" Albino Oscar is floating. His stomach looks bloated and when he tries to swim down, he just bobs back up to the top. Is he constipated or is this something serious??? When I saw he was doping this, I did a 50% water change, will test later on.

Hopefully it is not 'Dropsy' which may be incurable caused by fluids swelling in the tissues of the abdomen that can be caused by a number of things. Did you feed him anything different lately that may be hard to digest?

No I haven't changed his diet. Water tests were fine and after adding a parasite med he seems to be getting a little better. He's due for another dose today which I give with another water change.

Sounds like a bladder issue. Do you feed him pellets? Too much air intake when feeding does this. It's normal in goldfish but rare in oscars, but could happen.

Are his scales falling off? What other things are you seeing? Is there a whitish film on his body?

He's eating again and is able to stay under the water again. He had lost some scale on his side, but I think it was because he banged himself in a piece of driftwood trying to stay submerged when he was sick. I'm thinking that the air in the intestines may have been an issue because at feeding time he would come half way out of the water to eat before I even put the pellets in and he would get a huge gulp of air. Thanks for the help everyone, but I think were going to be okay from here.
