sick oscar

To add another bad note, (sorry) the kenyi need very different water chemistry than the oscar. They come from the rift lakes in africa where the ph is high (over 8.0) and the water is moderately hard. Kenyi are also primarily vegetarian and need a lot of spiraluna and algae in thier diet.

the kennyi dont seem to mind the water conditions they had been breeding. and i have been reading what you all wrote and im considering taking the oscar down to my lfs and trading him in. what do you recomend for replacement chichlids with good color

I would call first before you bring the Oscar in. There is a huge oversupply of adult oscars in "fair" condition. Good luck finding a home for him -- I am not being sarcastic. If you can't move him to larger tank, finding a new home is definitely the right thing to do.

I suggest that you start a new thread to do research on the Kennyi tankmates.
