I posted last week about my sick platy and it was believed that she had internal parasites. I started treating her 7 days ago with Jungle Parasite Clear. I have not noticed any improvement with her. Does anyone have any other ideas for me? How do i tell the difference between internal parasites and TB? I think that she might not be swimming as frantically as before, but that is the only change. If it is TB, is there a treatment for it? Should I assume it IS TB since she has not improved with the parasite medication? I've also read conflicting information about TB being contagious to people.....does anyone here know for sure? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Jen:help:

I checked your post from last week (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92219) to get the background. If internal parasites aren't the problem, then possibly it is, at worst, a tuberculosis problem, for which there is no cure. I have heard the same conflicting info about fishy TB, but I lean toward it not being contagious. At best, it is a nutritional problem which can be corrected. What are you feeding her? Make sure the diet is varied, but you might want to try fattening her up with some of the frozen fish foods. Mine like brine shrimp and bloodworms. Beef heart is good too. They also like mashed up veggies, but in particular, the defrosted middles smooshed brussel sprouts.
