Now we have a game.

Side bet:

On what day does RB get pissed off at Johns modding and quit?

I pick after day 2s events.

Hahahahaha lol

I open a book on me to either have a power role and use it to kill everyone on my own side accidentally.

Or get the timezones wrong and UD on day 1.

Or end the game early with a last minute vote swap when playing town, handing the win to the mafia.

That would be a fair summary of my mafia experiences lol (except the time I got all snotty and retired (apologies to mad who I think modded).

Looking forward to this one :swear:

Well the time is now to make any input, suggestions or questions.

Can you just clarify a couple of things, JL?
Each new day cycle the Don has an investigation and the results are given to the wiseguys. The Don also gets to blackmail a player each day. At the same time the Don submits the investigation, the Don will submit a name of who they want to blackmail (not a wiseguy) and who he wants them to vote for. I will forward the information to the player. The player can make whatever justifications they want to, but their final vote for that lynching must be the Don's request or the player will be killed. If the player reveals to the town they are being blackmailed (no hints at all), then they will be killed – but if they are a rebel, they can tell the other rebels and vote however they want. They also get to turn the player that the Don wanted hit to a Rebel (if they weren’t already one).

1. To me it looks like ONLY the wiseguys learn the result of the Don's investigation, right? Does the Don get the result too?

2. If the Don tries to blackmail a Rebel, the Rebel can just disregard the order, AND the Don loses his nightly hit?

The more I think about it, this game might be stacked a little bit in the town's favor...

Town has:

A nearly unkillable Detective - actually the Don (who is replaced if killed)
A nearly unkillable Doctor - the wiseguys (who rotate responsibility)
A handful of players privy to the Don's investigation
Nightly hit
Blackmail ability
Greatly outnumbers the Rebels

Rebels have

Nightly hit
Possibility of turning players by guessing the blackmail

IMO you might consider taking the nightly hit away from the town and/or changing the win condition for the Rebels in that they only need to EQUAL (vs. outnumber) the remaining townies/mafia.

Just some thoughts. Feel free to disregard if you disagree....

1. The Don knows the results.

2. The Don can Blackmail and Investigate, no hits (the town has a lynch). If the Don blackmails a rebel, then the player that the Don wanted the rebel to vote for will be turned into a rebel the next day.

Everyday cycle the Don blackmails someone to vote for someone. The person that was blackmailed can turn into a rebel if the Rebels suspect they were blackmailed.

Also if the Don blackmails a rebel, then the rebel can vote for whoever they want (which can be the player or not) and the player that the Don wanted lynched will be turned the next day.

If the Don sees that the player they blackmailed went against there wishes, then the Don will know they are both Rebels.

The game does to start off favoring the town, the town has the numbers and it's power roles have power that transfers. Also bala can promote a citizen to a wiseguy. The start of the game should favor the town, even though they are mafia, they are the town. Think of the Don more of a mayor.

The Don's power is a double edged sword, every blackmail target could add to the rebels strength. Plus a wiseguy dies if the Don is hit. The rebels will know they hit the Don and know the person that died was a wiseguy. The other wiseguy(s) will have to be very cautious.

The towns power roles are fairly limited, Don with the power to investigate and blackmail and Wiseguys with the power of knowledge and power of protection.

I might change it so just a random citizen gets the power of protection.

I am starting to feel a little presure about modding this game.

The good news is that I no longer have a job that I have to travel all the time.

The bad news is that I work at an Internet Gaming Center and all I do all day is sit in front of a computer and surf the internet between customers. Well that and drink energy drinks.

Anyone ever have Bawls G33K B33R?

mmm i have not had Bawls since i use to go to LAN parties, about 8 years ago.

I will try to have some sort of twist with the protection.

So it is not too powerful. Maybe where the hit is turned instead of hit. Or some sort of coin toss. Maybe three outcomes, the player is protected, the player is turned, or the player still dies. Also maybe the player is in a coma and is not dead yet, but can't post.

Maybe also it can't be used on the Don (they have the wiseguys). But only the wiseguys will know who the Don is, maybe if someone protects the Don, then they are then turned to a wiseguy (maybe only if the Don gets hit).

I was trying to think of some sort of witness protection angle and maybe that is what this can be.

Also, if the Don suspects that the blackmail suspect has hinted there was a turn, the Don will need to let me know. I will keep an eye out, but I skim too much to catch the hints.

I don't want this game to be lopsided. I am going to assign roles randomly. If a power role goes to a noob, they will be able to ask me anything and I will do my best to "guide" them.

Any "tweaking" will be done with blue mist and the whole town will know. Since the rebel team can grow.

Also even if the Don and the wiseguys are gone, the town still wants the rebels gone. The citizens don't want the old AC, they like the new AC. The Don and wiseguys are just power roles and once gone the game is not over.

I opened up a LAN center here in Fayetteville in April. Mostly XBoxes and a few PC's. We are still growing.

I didn't even know there were LAN parties 8 years ago.

I see your point, but disagree about the town's power roles being fairly limited... IMO the Don/Wiseguys are pretty powerful. The Don/Detective is directly unkillable (he can't be directly hit, and is replaced if lynched) AND multiple people are made aware of his investigation results...that's a REALLY tough obstacle for the REBELS to overcome.

It'll be fun either way...
