Silicon questions

I have condensation buildup from underneath the trim of my tank and there's a small trickle of water the flows out from the trim to the front pane of the glass.

My question is...what kind of silicon should I use to seal it up from the inside (that can be obtained from home depot)? Also, how long does it take for silicon to dry? I will be sealing it from the inside while the fish are still in the tank. Thanks

Here's the stuff to get, just make sure it's Silicone I and not Silicone II

uh....you will need to empty the tank and do a proper reseal from the inside after removing any exsistant sealant.

I was thinking about doing it from the inside. There are too many fish inside the tank right now...It's just a 2" area that causes the condensation to trickle. Should this be ok??

this is what i recommend (AllGlass Aquarium Silicone). why? it is MADE FOR aquariums. it's a little more expensive, but IMO worth it for peace of mind.

also.. you CAN NOT (read: CANNOT) seal the tank with water in it.. it will not seal, and the sealant cannot cure while wet. it must be in a completely dry environment to work properly, otherwise youre wasting your time and endangering the lives of your fish.

The GE I w/o the BioSeal is perfectly safe for the aquarium!!!

It's your money if you want to waste it on advertising.

And obviously y'all aren't reading his post completely, the LEAK is not under water...just a condensation drip.
