Has anyone had any experience silicone chaulking repairing old fish tanks?
If so, what brands of silicone chaulking are considered non-toxic to the fish?
Thanks in advance, viinsinn

GE I 100 % silicone (GE II has an anti midew agnet, you dont want that)...new silcone will not stick to old. you need to remove the old...I make my seams wider than the original to give it a bit more bite...I also allow it to cure for 4 days before filling.

I have a tube of GE II that I havent used, But its window and door, and doesnt contain an anti mildew agent.... it says 100% silicone.

The GE II kitchen and bath contains anti mildew.

Just to be sure, I read the label until I find a specific claim that it is safe for aquariums. A new (to avoid scratches) single edge razor blade will help to remove the old silicone. I use my index finger to smooth the silicone after I apply it. Once it has cured set it up to test it in a place where water won't cause damage just in case it leaks.

My GE I tube says to not use it in aquariums but they didn't change the ingredients, just added the warning apparently. I still used it and everything was fine.
