silicone

I use GE Silicone I for windows and doors. Don't get the tub and tile stuff as it as mildew-cide in it.
 
the lable says its not ment for underwater use? is there an ingredient that I should look for?
 
I forgot to tell you,the local pet store here has aquarium silicone for 20 bucks a tube!thats why I ve asked the question
 
Personally, I am a little worried, maybe unnecessarily, about using silicone that specifically states not for aquarium use. I just bought the All-Glass brand silicone at my local LFS and don't have to be concerned about it. It was $8.00 a tube.
 
the same tube is 20 bucks,I see were youre coming from,peace of mind is pricless
 
I read someplace that they say that because "aquarium silicone" is the same stuff repackaged at 5x the price, so they'd rather sell that. No backup to that, so don't hold me to it. I've resealed several tanks from 20gal up to 150 with the GE stuff with no issue after several years, so I don't worry.
 
cool for that sploke,I just looked at the lable of dow corning aquarium sealant and it says 100%rubber silicone.its the same as DAP and GE silicone,there is no difference.think Ill go with the GE silicone 1. thanks for your input
