Sillicon.

it doesnt say that it has any so im hoping that it doesn't. Im using it to hold some peices of slate together for a cave that im making. hopefully all goes well.
 
I can only recommend GE 100% clear as I used it to replace all the silicone between and inside all the panels on a 244 Gallon tank (6 giant tubes) . Still holding perfectly after almost 3 months. Although I wish I had used black instead of clear which is much easier to see and therefore apply and remove excess. Cleaning and removing clear is very difficult to spot.
 
i had to return the tube that bought because it said that it was not reccomended for aquarium use... when i returned it i went to both of my local hardware stores and to walmart. the only thing i could find was an aquarium sealant but it was 3fl. oz. for 7.99 and thats too pricey for me... i was looking for the GE 1 or the DAP that was stated to work earlier but none of my local places carry it. Any suggestions? maybe theres another way to hold the slate together without silicone?
 
All of the GE tubes I used stated NOT for aquarium use, but I have read repeatedly that it a marketing ploy to prevent a conflict of interest with aquarium manufactures that make aquariums using GE Silicone 1 and is also re-labeled and re-sold under different aquarium safe product names. Only instead of costing $3-$4 a giant tube it re sold for $9-$14 a tube, you know just like the new health care bill.

The only thing you really have to watch for with GE 1 silicone is the expiration date, try and get the most recent batch with the oldest expiration date labeled. The batch I bought at WallSmart on sale for $2.98 a tube had just arrived and had a 2 year expiration date 2012, wonder if that means soothing LOL.
 
the DAP I always use also says NOT for aquarium use.

I think its just to release them from liability of a failure resulting in a loss of aquarium livestock that they could be sued for.

But its been fine for me. I resealed my 125 with it almost 3 years ago with no issues
 
wow alright thanks guys : ) i guess i will go to the store and pick up some of the ge 1 if i can, if not ill look for the dap. i did notice the crazy hike in price for the specifically labelled aquarium safe stuff and no way am i gonna pay that. ill keep you updated and let you know how it goes.
