Silver Arowanas

I could be wrong, but the *hint hint* seems to be that your fish could find themslves a new home at 15" in length...and it seems to be a generous offer.

The fish isn't mine. But here's a pic of one from google...I never knew the colors vary.

Looks like I have been missing a conversation! :D

hint hint for what?

I would love to add a 15" Arowana to my future pond! If I get my way he would not be alone ;)

You are correct!

Yes ma'am! (I hope I wasn't out of line)

BFK, it's great that you love your big fish, but you should start on that pond you've been talking about. I'd love to see all your monsters in a monster environment, and I think you would too.

Now, back on topic. How fast do silver aros grow, anyways?

This may have already been answered but they can grow about 2" a month the first year.

They can get up to 4' and 10 lbs and create a lot of waste (which I why I want the pond up and running, well filtrated, and well established before I start adding aro's) Just talking about it get's me in the planning mood (gotta sell the house I'm working on now first though)

Last warning folks...

ChilDawg: I think the general rule for tank size is preferably at least as wide as the fish is long and at least twice (preferably three times) as long as the fish.

(I tried to quote you but it didn't work for some reason)
