Silver dollar eye problem

One of my silver dollars has an eye problem. I've had the four silver dollars for a couple weeks but just noticed the eye problem today. The other three silver dollars look normal. The only other fish in the tank is an angelfish and a rubber nose pleco. The angelfish I've had for about three weeks and the pleco I bought today. All water parameters are normal.

The silver dollars eye looks sort of swollen and has what looks like a white translucent lens over half of the eye. I'm not familiar with any fish diseases. Anyone know what could cause this and the treatment? Thanks.

Sorry, no photos. My tank has been set up for about nine weeks. It took six weeks to cycle. I still test the water every day. Ammonia is 0. Nitrites are 0. Nitrates are 20. I change 25% of the water twice a week using a Python syphon. In fact, I just finished doing a water change tonight.
 
I forgot to ask the other questions which are as important. Size of tank and tankmates. I decided to dig some of your posts and found out it's a 55 gallons. What tankmates do you have there aside from silver dollars right now? Increase your tank maintenance frequency. What test kit are you using? How many times do you feed each day?

If the eyes are really swollen, chances are this could be exophthalmus added with possibly cloudy eyes. I'd do water changes more frequently to allow the silver dollar to recover.

Besides the four silver dollars, there is one angel about the same size as the silver dollars and one baby rubbermouth pleco. I'm using API test strips. I know, get the master test kit. I'll do a water change daily and see if that will help. I feed twice a day with flake food. Once a week I feed sun dried baby shrimp. Yesterday I fed algae wafers for one of the meals. Everyone has a good appetite. Eye looked the same this morning as last night.
 
Now that I look closely, the eye isn't really swollen. It just looks larger due to the white haze covering the eye. Unfortunately it looks like the other eye might also have a thin covering.
 
i had the same problem with one of my angels. Treated with Protozin, and it cleared up within a day or two. i applied it directly to the eye as advised.

I haven't heard of Protozin. I'll do a search for it. I bought some Melafix today and dosed the tank.
 
Who knew this would be so complicated. I've been doing two water changes a week, but wanted to add another filter even though my current filter is rated for a 60g tank. (I know, divide in half.) But, since one of my silver dollars seems to have cloud eye, I not only can't add a filter, I have to remove the charcoal from my current filter because i want to treat the cloud eye with melafix! Does it ever get simple? :)
